I love making and designing furniture for a living and have been doing so for over 20 years now.
My journey into woodwork began during my school days when I became certain that I would be using my hands to make a living although at that point did not know exactly how. After school I completed a course in carpentry and joinery before being sidetracked into the world of catering for a number of years. In 1993 I embarked on a two year course at Ryecotewood college in Oxfordshire, designing and making furniture. This was a fantastic experience and one which taught me much.
I began working as a self employed cabinet maker in 1995 based in a shared workshop near Henley-on-Thames.
As long as it involves timber, I will consider any project, from outdoor seating to fine cabinets laden with dovetails.
